Crush and the Mighty Rhythm are a 3 piece indie/rock band from Leeds and Wakefield, fronted by talented singer songwriter and guitarist Mark Dale, with Phil Wardle and Stuart Blanchflower on Bass & Drums.

The band formed in 2008 after Mark’s home recordings were heard on Myspace by Phil, and a chance meeting with Stuart allowed the 3 piece to get together and take Mark's music out onto the live circuit.

The full back story is being developed and, and the past two years events are recorded on our blog pages. But the essence has been the steady growth of interest the band have received since their first gig in 2009, and the unexpected overseas sales of their first single “Let’s Go Away,” released in July 2010.

The band were also invited to audition for Sky TV's "Must be the Music," and were encouraged by the show’s producer to record an album after recognising their professional attitude and experience did not deserve being ridiculed on a programme that was not much more than Sky's answer to X Factor.

The album is currently a work in progress, and is scheduled for release in 2012. There should be a snippet of some early mixes playing in your ears right now.  There's a really good vibe about the final mix that is being developed during studio sessions.

There's no expectation for success....and there never was....It was just a recognition that Mark writes some really good music, and a desire to play it in a pub one day to at least the bar staff and possibly the landlord. That ambition has long since been fulfilled....and the rest is just whatever it becomes. The positive response by audiences and fellow musicians has been an unexpected bonus that means Crush and the Mighty Rhythm will be around for a while to come yet.

2012 will be another step on the Mighty road unknown, but reflecting on 2011 there’s a sense that come 2013 the band will be looking back saying “Well we said we’d do this, but ended up doing that, and never really expected to be where we are and have enjoyed it so much......It’s just getting better and better.”
