Going Native.....Jan 2012

It's January 21st and the last track of CMR's debut album has just been recorded.  Native boy is a 7 minute epic and the rough mix sounds monstrous with Stuart's jungle drums, Phil's thumping hypnotic bass line and Crush adding some angry guitar mixed with spooky vocals.  It's one of those songs that never had much structure and during live performances was pretty made up on the spot and never played the same twice.  For recording purposes the song was given some structure mainly built around a hi-hat smash that triggered the change from one section of the song to the next.  Daz at DPS came up with some brilliant ideas to fill in the guitar parts that were given some extra zip by Crush playing it through a wah pedal.  Darren Brookes has become a key part of the Mighty Rhythm being engineer and co-producer on all the album tracks.  His contribution has been invaluable and we'd like to offer our thanks and tell everyone to check his pages at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Darren-Brookes-Music/113538215355445
The album needs a final tweak and mix/mastering and then it should be ready to toast.  Thanks all !!

2012 has arrived

Happy new year everyone, and a big thanks to everyone who has supported us through 2011.  2012 is upon us and our News page has been refreshed to concentrate on this years events.  2011 News is now archived but you can still read what went on last year via the "2011 Archive" link if you hover your mouse over the News tab.  Alternatively, it might be simpler if you just clicked here and we'll take you straight there.

The first thing to report in 2012 is that CMR are now busy rehearsing their final track, "Native Boy" ahead of their recording session on 21st Jan. Native Boy is CMR's live set closer and features Stuart's heavy, hypnotic jungle drum show piece.  Check back for more News on this at the end of Jan.

In other news we're really excited about being one track away from completing our debut album, yet to be given a title, and then we're ready for a final mixing and production session before release early in the new year. 

There's great other news to end the year too. Crush and the Mighty Rhythm will be auditioning for Live and Unsigned on 5th Feb 2012, which means we've a few things to look forward to starting the new year with. Watch this space for more news.
